JCMD Program Comes To An End
The retirement ceremony of Col. William N. Holway, Director of the Joint Cruise Missile Defense program coincides with the closing of the organization’s five year study of our nation’s ability to detect and defeat the enemy cruise missile threat.
The Colonel and Ms. Geri Lentz, Technical Director for JCMD have been traveling the globe presenting “out briefings” to the various military organizations regarding the findings and recommendations of JCMD. They are publishing a CM Surrogate Guide for use by organizations who employ cruise missile surrogates for testing and/or training. The guide lists specific advantages/disadvantages of the various cruise missile surrogate systems. As a “legacy product” of the program, the SMART-1s are featured prominently in this guide.
